Question by stephan d: What is the best sailboat for me?
I’m looking for a sailboat and the only requirements that it needs is that it needs to have both a sail and an engine, obliviously so that if there’s no wind I can still sail. It also needs to be a sailboat that I can so sailing for a month or two in. The only other person going with me for the months is my friend, so there will only be two people on the boat. Thank you.

Wow! A lot of variables here… Let’s start with where you’ll be sailing. If its in a more tropical area, you both won’t be cramped into the cabin when anchored. Next, how close of a friend? Try a week in a small room together, with no tv. This will tell a lot. This is just a starter for the considerations you’ll need to get into.
As far as a boat itself; for two people, for a couple of months, I wouldn’t try anything under 22 feet (7 meters). For a more definite answer, visit the folks at your local sailing center. Get friendly and ask questions. You’ll find most “sailing” people to be friendly and decent, as well as very helpful.

Question by matthew: How much does boat rental insurance run per month/year for 2 wave runners?
Looking to start renting out my 2 new Yamaha wave runners in Miami. All the agents want a ton of info and credit check before telling me. Just hoping someone can give an accurate round about. Thanks so much!

It may sux but you will have to go to a licensed agent to get a quote. Get several as the price will vary by company and yes your credit score will be considered fair or not. It will not be cheap as the liability exposure for jet skis is high. Have you ever seen anyone drive a jet ski carefully? Lot of accidents and serious injuries associated with their use. If you only have a couple of ski, it may not be cost effective for you. If you choose to do it without insurance, you can have someone draw up a hold harmless agreement and have the customer waive liability. This does not work for minors and will not keep you from getting sued though and will not protect you if accident is somehow your fault such as lack of maintence etc. or letting a drunk person ride the ski.
